As we continue to celebrate the 200th anniversaries of the first publication of many of Walter Scott’s major works, including Waverley (2014), Rob Roy (1817) and Ivanhoe (1819), this RSE-funded conference invites papers or panels that reconsider the theory and practice of reworking Scottish texts.

Join us in April 2016 for a two-day conference of papers that will address the theory and practice of the adaptation and appropriation of literary texts in different formats and fora. This conference is hosted by The Centre for Critical and Creative Cultures and the School of Humanities at the University of Dundee.

Rebirth (Fifth Annual School of Humanities Postgraduate Conference)

The conference theme aims to explore the concept of ‘Rebirth’ in both academic and creative terms. This annual gathering of all Humanities postgraduate students showcases their originality and intellectual endeavour, carrying on the success of previous years. All staff are encouraged to come along, to support the School’s dynamic and expanding PG community and celebrate the diversity and excellence of the PG research and creative work being conducted across our distinctive range of programmes.
